2011 Trends for Fall

We were talking about our favorite Halloween costumes in the office the other day, and somewhere between the PB&J-and-a-Juicebox couple and the guy dressed as a robber who met a guy dressed like a cop at a cocktail party, I realized that fall isn’t right around the corner anymore—it’s right here, right now. I started thinking: what are some other fall trends we didn’t cover in our Fall Trends blog post? I’ve detailed some of the best ones below; think of them as Day-Before-Halloween costumes!

Bold Tartans

Plaid isn’t just for kilts and golf pants anymore. This season, bold tartan print has made a splash onto all kinds of separates. Over sized bags, tights, belts, and stockings all looks amazing in this trendy print. This fad is especially great because it works at the office or in a more casual setting, and is particularly striking with a basic bootie like the Miz Mooz Sadie. With the Sadie’s comfy heel and elasticized side gore, it also fits like a dream. The overlay details on the Sadie also add elegant, contrasting lines against the tartan print.

Bell Bottom Jeans

As with the 70′s hippies vibe in a lot of the spring 2011 lines, the bell bottom pant is groovy again this season. Unlike skinny jeans, a more flared pant compliments most body types. Bell bottoms also look super modern over a lace up bootie like the Miz Mooz Hiro! The Hiro lace up features a warm fleece lining and optional top cuff that you can pull up to cover more of your legs on those chillier days. Pair with a floral cardigan or color-blocked top and you’ll be good to go.

Mid-Length Skirts

While the big trend for Spring and Summer was the maxi dress and skirt, this Fall brings it up a notch (literally) by hiking up the hemlines. No, we’re not talking about a micro mini! Mid-length skirts have made several appearances during fashion week and we couldn’t be happier. Stunning with or without tights, the mid-length skirt looks fantastic with lots of layers and fun jewelry! Try pairing this fab fad with a statement ring or a long pendant necklace. Apply a coat of eyeliner and you’ll be all set! The Miz Mooz Odette wedge bootie is also great with a mid-length skirt. With a lace-up front borrowed from combat boot chic, oxford-inspired perforations and a comfortable heel, the Odette will be turning heads all season long.

Tie-Neck Blouses

Your fall wardrobe won’t be complete this season without a tie-neck blouse or dress. This a great trend; not only does the tie take the place of a necklace, but it looks amazing from the office right to happy hour! Pair with a bold lip, a playful charm bracelet, and a cute bootie like the Miz Mooz Foster. It come in fabulous, spicy tones and features a stacked high heel that compliments your legs and the 2011 fall trends .
